This latest photoshop image I've created is based off hEllO kITTy, a famous japanese icon in popular culture today especially among girls. This collage makes use of simple photoshop effects and repetition on multiple hEllO kITTy images. In the near future I will post some more photoshop collage's based on popular icons but for now you'll have to content with one.

These four images are the first in my colourless collection, photos I've taken down in the heart of Brisbane and played around with on photoshop. These photos all follow a simple process where I render the image to look like a black and white comic using stamp effects and then throw a single solid colour somewhere into the image. Not very technical I know but I personally find the end result of these image quite interesting.

This work is a self portrait. It is an artist book that can also be hung like a Chinese scroll. It consists of five images showing how people view my cultural background and how I feel about that it.

CoNFusCioUS sAYs:
Infusion: is about my unusual cultural heritages, in particular my Chinese ancestry and the impact it has made on the way I look and feel.
Diffusion: is about how these very different cultures have blended and produced my uniqueness.
Confusion: is the result, people always ask what my background is, and I feel confused about my identity as well.

eNLigHTeNmENt:
Is about trying to overcome these issues and being at peace with myself.

eSSeNCe:
Is about finding a balance between the dark and light sides (the ying and yang); and finding my centre and path in life.

dRAgoN:
My Chinese name is Sian Loong, it means bright dragon. I was born in an auspicious year and so this is what my grandparents named me. This image represents how my name affects me and my sense of vitality; I am doing a series of kata movements to express what i guess I would call my dragon strength.

a FoOT iN bOtH WoRLds:
This is the final image of my artist's book. This image is about accepting the fact that my life is divided by two completely different cultures each with their own benefits and faults. Both cultures are constantly clashing but both are very important to me as they have moulded who I am.
